Frey's syndrome

This patient is undergoing surgery for Frey's syndrome which occurs when the nerves that once stimulated salivation are able to connect with sweat glands producing 'gustatory' sweating

In Frey's syndrome surgery Permacol® surgical implant acts as a barrier between these nerves and the sweat glands

This enlarged view shows Permacol® surgical implant in place ready for the wound to be closed
